Brief Bio


Pam Munter has authored several books including When Teens Were Keen: Freddie Stewart and The Teen Agers of Monogram, Almost Famous, and Fading Fame.

She’s a retired clinical psychologist, former performer and film historian. Her essays, book reviews and short stories have appeared in more than 150 publications including Cold Creek Review, The Rumpus, The Manifest-Station, Matador Review, The Coachella Review, The Creative Truth, Litro, Angels Flight—Literary West, TreeHouse Arts, Persephone’s Daughters, Nixes Mate, Scarlet Leaf Review, and many others.  She was the nonfiction book reviewer for Fourth and Sycamore for nearly four years.

Her first play, “Life Without” was nominated for Outstanding Original Writing by the Desert Theatre League and she has been nominated for a Pushcart Prize. Her memoir, As Alone As I Want To Be was published in 2018 by Adelaide Books. Fading Fame: Women of a Certain Age in Hollywood was published in February, 2021. She earned her MFA in Creative Writing and Writing for the Performing Arts from the University of California at Riverside in 2017, her sixth college degree.
